Five girls from the Mexico High School girls tennis team earned all conference honors at the North Central Missouri Conference Tennis Tournament held in Fulton on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
Mexico head coach Kim Costley says “It is sometimes hard to stay locked in for an entire day, but we knew the assignment. Jyllian Whitworth continues to defeat all odds with a broken wrist, finishing 3rd in the conference at #1 and earning all-conference honors. Claire Hudson dominated her bracket and is a 4 time all-conference winner. Lucy Gleeson earned all-conference for the 3rd time and Marali Herrera & Bailey Christianson finished first in their doubles bracket and earned all-conference honors. They recently became doubles partners. These 2 young ladies continue to get better and focus on key skills in practice. Today was the last competition for several of our girls. Friday we begin individual district play and will travel to Palmyra on Tuesday for team districts.”
