Mexico Loses Tough Battle Against Undefeated Kirksville

The Mexico Bulldogs lost to the Kirksville Tigers 28-13 at Hawthorne Heights on Friday, October 11, 2024.

The Bulldogs would score first on a Drew DeMint, 53-yard pick six in the first quarter.

Mexico missed the extra point.

Kirksville would take the lead on a Jace Kent touchdown run.

It was 7-6 Tigers after the first quarter.

Kirksville took a 13-6 lead into halftime.

The Tigers scored again on a six-yard touchdown run by running back Jace Kent in the third quarter and it was 21-6 Tigers.

Mexico’s Peyton Hoover intercepted a pass in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs offense would capitalize on a two-yard score from Hunter Cuno and Mexico trailed 21-13 with just over two minutes in the third quarter.

Kirksville would put the game out of reach on another Jace Kent rushing touchdown with 6:47 remaining in the third quarter.

Mexico falls to 3-4 on the season and 2-2 in the North Central Missouri Conference.
