The Mexico High Academic Team A completed a perfect 10-game sweep in the varsity division at the 2024 Bulldog Fall Fiesta held at the Mexico High School on Saturday, October 20, 2024.
It was the start of the Quiz Bowl season.
Mexico’s Camden Williams was the tournament’s top scorer 157.5 points per game.
Mexico A members were: Camden Williams, Andrew Peuster, Carter Blackburn and Lucy Gleeson.
Mexico B finished the day with a record of 4-5 finishing 9th of 16 teams in the varsity tournament.
Mexico B team members were AJ Leon, Hunter Feger, Jude Yancey, Willow Femrite, Brandon Ballard and Zellen Duncan.
AJ Leon led the B-Team with 30.9 points and Hunter Feger was right behind him with 22.14 points per game.
Mexico C ended the day with a 4-5 record in the Novice tournament.
Ash Lee led the way with 30 points.
Myles Yancey was the #10 Novice scorer with 18.24 points per game.
Right behind Myles was fellow freshman Elliot DeVargas with 17.78 points per game and Ash Lee with 15.29 point per game.
Joining Myles, Elliott and Ash on the C-team were Robbie Lopez and Trinity Bush.
Up next Mexico A, B and C teams will be at Mizzou for a tournament next weekend.
