Several area high school softball teams will be playing for District Championships on Monday, October 21, 2024.

In Class 1 District 4 the #1 seeded Paris Lady Coyotes play the 2nd seeded Community R6 Lady Trojans.

The game takes place in Laddonia with a 6pm first pitch.

In the Class 1 District 3 tournament Glasgow plays Cairo.

In Class 2 District 8 Carrolton and Salisbury play for a championship.

In Class 3 District 4 the number 1 seeded Centralia Lady Panthers play the 6th seed Macon Lady Tigers at 6pm in Ashland at the Southern Boone High School at 6pm.

Father Tolton takes on St. Dominic in the Class 4 District 5 championship game in Hannibal tonight at 6pm.

Class 5 District 4 sees Helias play Troy Buchanan tonight at 5.

Class 5 District 6 championship has Rock Bridge playing Grain Valley.

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs High School Volleyball Team will play their final game of the regular season against the Hannibal Lady Pirates at the Hannibal High School on Monday, October 21, 2024.

First game starts at 5pm.

The Missouri Tigers football team moved down in the polls yesterday (Sunday), after an unlikely comeback win over Auburn on Saturday.

Mizzou came in at No. 17 in the Week 9 edition of the Coaches Poll, which is down from the previous week.

Mizzou jumped above Ole Miss, however was leapfrogged by Indiana and Kansas State to fall one place in the rankings.

Missouri staged an 11-point, fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Auburn on Saturday.

Mizzou improved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the SEC.

The Kansas City Chiefs remain the NFL’s lone unbeaten team after defeating the San Francisco 49ers 28-18 on the road on Sunday, October 20. 2024.

Veteran wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster re-aggravated a hamstring injury in the first quarter, sidelining him for the remainder of the game.

Running back Kareem Hunt led the ground attack for Kansas City racking up 78 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns.

The Chiefs improved to 6-0 and play the Las Vegas Raiders in Las Vegas this Sunday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are going back to the World Series after taking the National League pennant last (Monday) night by routing the New York Mets 10-5 to win the the National League Championship Series 4 games to 2.

The Dodgers will play the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday.
