First Snow Of The Season Could Lead To Issues On The Roadways

The first snow of the season will arrive today (Saturday) and could cause some issues.

Extra traffic is expected on the roadways in mid-Missouri due to holiday travel and Mizzou football game day travel.

Slick spots are expected to develop on the roadway and motorists are being advised to give yourself plenty of extra time to get where you need to go.

Snow is expected to become widespread today and quickly exit by the afternoon.

Most of the region will be in the range of two to four inches.

Heavier snow is expected to develop that could have an isolated amount over four inches primarily along and north of I-70.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6pm on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Closures:

The Mexico, Martinsburg, Laddonia, Vandalia and Farber libraries will be closed on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

According to Library Director Christal Bruner, the closure is due to the heavy snow expected in the area.
