Centralia Man Charged In Connection To Fatal Vehicle Crash In Osage County

A Centralia man has been charged in connection to an October vehicle crash in Osage County that left a passenger dead.

According to court records, 20-year-old Nathan Timpe was charged on Tuesday with three counts of DWI, one for causing the death of another person and two for causing serious physical injury—as well as a charge of careless driving. Timpe was driving a Jeep Wrangler on County Road 807 southwest of Linn on October 9th when he allegedly swerved off the road to avoid a deer, overturning the jeep.

19-year-old Riley Pipes of Fulton died at the scene, two passengers were taken to area hospitals for their injuries and a third passenger refused treatment at the scene.

Court documents state Timpe gave a preliminary breath sample that indicated he had a blood alcohol content of .109%.
