No injuries were reported following a grass fire in Mexico during the afternoon hours of Thursday, December 12, 2024.
According to the news release from Mexico Public Safety, personnel responded to the 2500 block of Lakeview Road just before 1pm.
Responding personnel found that a landscaping company was mowing in the area when a piece of equipment malfunctioned and started a small fire.
Mexico Public Safety said the fire caused some cut grass to burn and the fire started moving towards a nearby area of prairie grass.
The fire was contained and extinguished after it burned about 1/3 of an acre.
No personal property was damaged according to Mexico Public Safety.
