Little Dixie Fire Protection Chief Bill Albus Announces Retirement
Little Dixie Fire Protection Chief Bill Albus will be retiring at the end of March.
Albus was named chief of Little Dixie Fire Protection District on July 1, 2019.
Albus is a graduate of Mexico High School and joined the fire district in 1978.
He worked for several years for Mexico Public Safety, Audrain County Sheriff’s Office and for the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office as a regional fire investigator before being named Fire Chief of the Little Dixie Fire Protection District.
Chief Albus says after 47 years of fire service it is time to retire.
The Board of Directors of the Little Dixie Fire Protection District are currently accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief.
All applications are due at the fire district headquarter at 415 Agricultural Street in Mexico by February 1st.
Chief Albus will officially retire on March 31, 2025.
