Flu like illnesses among students is on the rise in schools in mid-Missouri.
The Paris R-II School District said due to the volume of illness and absences they are canceling school on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025.
Saint Brendan Catholic School of Mexico posted on social media that due to a large number of illnesses and absences among faculty and students. the school will be closed Thursday, Feb. 6, and Friday, Feb. 7.
The Hallsville School District stated that the district has also seen an increase in illnesses across all four of their buildings.
Several district officials throughout mid-Missouri said they are closely monitoring attendance and staffing daily to ensure the safety of students and staff.
