A Hannibal man was taken to the Marion County Jail following an arrest from an incident at the Probation and Parole Office in Hannibal.
According to the news release 45-year-old David J. Jones was charged on 2/9/2025, with Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Resisting Arrest.
Hannibal Police were called to the Probation and Parole Office in the 2000 block of Warren Barrett Drive on Saturday for a disturbance.
Police say Jones was in the lobby armed with a knife and appeared to be under the influence.
Officers remained outside and ordered Jones to exit the building utilizing the PA system from a patrol vehicle.
According to the news release as Jones exited he retrieved a knife from the pocket of his clothing and began to approach officers with knife in hand.
Officers were eventually able to get Jones to drop the knife and he was arrested.
