Two Mexico High School High School Athletes Commit To William Woods University

Mexico High School senior Tyler Grimes has committed to William Woods University, where he will compete in track & field and cross country while pursuing a degree in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching.

Grimes chose WWU because of its proximity to home and the strong connection he felt with the coaching staff, noting that finding the right fit with coaches is essential for success.

For underclassmen considering college athletics, Grimes offers this advice: “Be a student-athlete, not an athlete-student, because I struggled with that.”

Mexico High School senior Landon B. Higgins has committed to William Woods University, where he will continue his cross-country career while pursuing a degree in Exercise Science.

For underclassmen considering college athletics, Higgins offers this advice: “It only gets fun once you learn to embrace the suck. Comparison is the thief of joy.”

When asked why he chose WWU, Higgins shared, “God told me to take a different path, and I listened.”

Higgins extends his gratitude to his biggest supporters, including his mother, Katelyn Higgins; sisters, Heidi Hultz, Kyra Hultz, and Charlotte Higgins; uncle, Eric Larkin; and grandparents, Bob and Kay Larkin.
