Mexico High Academic Team Three Peats As District Champions

The Mexico High Academic Team reigned supreme and earned a Class 5 District 4 Championship on Saturday, Apr. 12, 2025.

Mexico played Hannibal and Kirksville in the tournament hosted at the Mexico High School.

Mexico beat Hannibal 660-330 in Round 1 and beat Kirksville 640-60 in Round 2.

Mexico was the number 1 seed entering the playoffs.

Mexico would meet the 2nd seeded Hannibal Pirates for the District Title where Mexico completed the sweep of Hannibal with a 570-220 victory.

Mexico seniors Camden Williams and Andrew Peuster made the All-District team.

Camden Williams, Andrew Peuster, Lucy Gleeson, Hunter Feger, AJ Leon and Trey Steelman were a part of the District Championship winning team for Mexico.

Up next Mexico begins their road for a state championship on Tuesday, April 22nd, when they travel to Washington, MO for a rematch of last year’s State Quarterfinals games.

The best-of-three game set will start at 5pm.

The winner of that set will play in the State Tournament at Mizzou on May 10th.
