Nobody Injured in Weekend Mexico Fires
Mexico Public Safety was dispatched twice this past weekend for fires in town. Nobody was injured in either fire.
The first was Friday, May 9, 2025, at approximately 9:45AM, in 800 block of East Breckenridge in reference to a fire inside a dumpster. The fire was quickly extinguished with only the dumpster being damaged. It appeared the fire was caused by disposal of hot cooking material.
The second incident was Saturday, May 10, 2025 at approximately 12:53PM, MPSD responded to the 2000 block of Summer Ridge Road in reference to a fire. Responding personnel found that the mulch in a flower bed had burned, damaging some personal property and the house itself. MPSD completed extinguishing the fire. It appeared the fire was caused by disposal of smoking material in the flower bed.
