MPSD Responds to Grass Fire

Mexico Public Safety responded to a grass fire in Mexico on Saturday. At approximately 9:25PM, MPSD was called to the 1300 block of Curtis Street in reference to a grass fire. Responding personnel found that a resident had been burning yard waste earlier in they day and was unaware that embers had reached some bushes along a neighbor’s privacy fence. The embers began burning under the bushes and was noticed by a passerby.

MPSD extinguished the fire before the fence or any personal property was damaged. There were no injuries from the incident.
