C2C Dedicates Former Garfield School

Tyronn Lue and his C2C initiative hosted its annual Community Day celebration over the July 4th holiday. The two-day festival included the dedication ceremony of the former Garfield School Building. The building was acquired exactly a year ago from United Credit Union.

C2C Executive Director Rita Jackson opened the ceremonies, with Chris Miller, Mayor Pro Tem, City of Mexico and Matt Gowin, President, Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce following.

Tyronn Lue wrapped up the festivities, before the Reverend T. L. Garner, Jr. led a Legacy Walk to honor the daily journey students made to Garfield School.
