Mexico Accident Kills Two, Leaves Two Injured


A two-vehicle accident early Saturday morning in Mexico has left two people dead and two more with serious injuries.
Mexico Public safety responded at approximately 6:39AM to the 4800 block of S Clark (Business US Highway 54) in reference to a crash.
Responding personnel found that a blue, 2016 Kia was being driven southbound on Clark when it crossed the center line and collided with a black 2012 Chrysler in the northbound lane.
MPSD used extrication equipment and assisted Audrain Ambulance District in removing people from the vehicles and treating them.
Joshua Frye, age 22, of Columbia, and Elliot Kitson, age 29 of Mexico, were both taken by ambulance to MU Hospital in Columbia. Kristain “Krissy” Pritchett, age 22 of Columbia, and Austin Terry, age 27 of Mexico, died as a result of the crash.
Traffic on South Clark near the Highway 54 Bypass was blocked until almost 8:00AM.
The crash is still under investigation.
