Kidnapping in Mexico Sunday morning
A disturbance early Sunday morning in Mexico turned into something much more serious for a 21-year-old Auxvasse man. Mexico Public Safety were called to the 1800 block of Salem Street in reference to a disturbance at approximately 2:04AM.
Responding personnel learned that Lane M. Miles arrived at a home, got into an altercation with someone he had been in a romantic relationship with, and then forced that person into a vehicle and left the area as MPSD was responding.
Area law enforcement agencies were notified and deputies from the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office and Callaway County Sheriff’s Office located Miles and the person he had allegedly abducted in the Auxvasse area.
Miles was arrested on charges of Domestic Assault in the 2nd degree and Kidnapping in the 3rd degree.
The person Miles assaulted did not desire medical attention.
