Lake Ozark Board of Aldermen Greenlight Osage nations
Lake Ozark’s long planned casino project is moving full speed ahead.
On Wednesday night, the Lake Ozark Board of Aldermen unanimously approved agreements with the Osage Nation for a $100million hotel and casino at the Lake of the Ozarks.
The deal clears the way for the mayor to send a letter of intent to the Missouri Gaming Commission, signaling official city support.
The 27 acre site off Bagnell Dam Boulevard will feature a 40 thousand square foot gaming floor and 150 room hotel.
The Osage Nation will pay the city a 2.5 percent share of gaming revenues and a $100thousand annual fee for police services.
Next, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Missouri’s governor must sign off before construction can begin. City leaders say a temporary gaming facility could open within a few years.
