Homeless man faces two arson charges in Mexico
In Mexico, a homeless man faces two arson charges after investigators linked him to a September house fire.
On September 27, crews responded to a blaze that heavily damaged one home and caused heat damage to a neighboring residence. Investigators say the house had no utilities and no sign the fire could have started accidentally.
Police identified 60-year-old Kent Erwin as a suspect after learning of an earlier dispute between him and the homeowner.
Erwin had also reported being assaulted and having a bicycle stolen days before the fire.
Officers later noticed burns on his hands.
This week, prosecutors charged Erwin with second- and third-degree arson.
He’s being held without bond in the Audrain County Jail.
