Mexico Public Safety Department responded to a call for a building on fire on Wednesday afternoon. The call came in at 2:41pm to the 1000 block of W Liberty.
Responding personnel found a small section of the building’s soffit, facia, and ceiling trusses burning. The fire was quickly extinguished with the building only suffering minor damage.
The fire apparently occurred due to furnace flue being placed too close to that section of the structure.
