The four people arrested in connection with a deadly shooting Sunday night in southwest Columbia are suspected of stealing iPhones from multiple people during Facebook Marketplace sales and then selling the phones, according to a probable cause statement.
Police say the three 18-year-olds Alexis Baumann of Hallsville, along with Kobe Aust and Joseph Crane, both of Columbia face charges including second-degree murder, robbery, and burglary.
A male juvenile was also arrested on similar charges.
Police believe the four were attempting to steal a phone from 42-year-old Michael Ryan Burke when the robbery went sideways.
The juvenile suspect allegedly shot Burke, according to a probable cause statement. He later died at a local hospital.
