Fayette Nursing Home fire claims three lives

An early morning fire today (Tuesday) at a nursing home in Fayette has claimed the life of three people.

Fayette firefighters were called to a structure fire at Perkins Residential Care Center on Villers Drive around 6:30 a.m.
Crews were not able to take an offensive approach to the fire due to the size of the fire when they arrived.

Firefighters have recovered two of the bodies from the building, and continue to search for the third missing person. One of the victims has been identified by a family member and another one is said to be a staff member.

No word on the cause of the blaze.
