Teen Bound Over for Trial in Randolph County Murder Case

A Columbia teenager accused in a deadly Randolph County shooting will face trial.
Seventeen-year-old Da’Caveon Nelson’s case has been bound over to the Randolph County Circuit Court after a judge found enough evidence to proceed.
Nelson is charged as an adult with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and first-degree robbery.
Investigators say the shooting happened on November 10, 2024, when Nelson allegedly stole a gun and fired it into the victim’s chest, killing them before fleeing the scene.
An arraignment is scheduled for 9am this morning
