Former Mizzou Prospect Keinder Asprilla: Felony Charges Dismissed; Immigration Detainer Pending

Keinder Asprilla, a former Mizzou basketball prospect, saw all three felony charges against him dropped this month.
Prosecutors had accused him of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, and second-degree kidnapping during a recruiting visit in Columbia, but the Boone County Attorney’s Office withdrew the case on January 21.
Defense attorney Adam Dowling confirmed the dismissal but said he can’t share details.
Asprilla remains detained on an immigration detainer, with an ICE hearing pending after being moved to a detention center near Kansas City on January 22.
The case’s next steps include immigration proceedings, while prosecutors have not offered an immediate explanation for the charge dismissal.
