Columbia Traffic Stop Leads to Meth, Pill Arrests

Two people face drug charges after Columbia police found meth and pills during a traffic stop Tuesday morning.

Officers stopped a pickup around 11 on Freedom Drive after recognizing a woman with warrants 27-year-old Katelyn Branch of Fulton.

Police say she tried to walk away but was arrested outside a hotel.

A K-9 search turned up more than 35 grams of meth and 41 Alprazolam pills in the truck.

Officers also arrested the driver, 48-year-old Caleb True of Columbia, who police say tried to hide meth during his arrest.

Branch is held on $10,000 bond, while True is jailed without bond.
