Accident closes I-70 on Sunday near Boonville

A truck driver lucky to walk away from an accident that closed eastbound Interstate 70 in Cooper County on Sunday morning.

The semi ran off the road around 8:49 a.m. near Exit 98 for Missouri Route 41/135 by Arrow Rock and Pilot Grove. The driver was uninjured in the accident

The wreck, which involved a load of apples, closed eastbound traffic in both lanes for two hours, with the eastbound passing lane reopened by 10:40a,. However, emergency crews didn’t fully clear the scene until 2:18pm, according to Troop F Highway Patrol.
