Former Missouri officer charged with first-degree rape

A former law enforcement officer from Peculiar, Missouri, is facing serious criminal charges.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Collin K. Goodsell has been charged with first-degree rape following a sexual assault investigation.

Goodsell, who previously worked in Cass and Livingston counties, was arrested Thursday in Lee’s Summit after investigators found probable cause.

The investigation began in December, after allegations surfaced involving a Belton Police Department employee.

Goodsell is being held in the Pettis County Jail without bond.
