The #2 seed Mexico Lady Bulldogs survived a scare from the #3 seed Moberly Lady Spartans with a 60-54,
Alyssa Miller led all scorers with 27 points.

in Class 4 District 9
Boonville beat out Blair Oaks 67-45

In Class 5 District 5
Jefferson City beat out Union 88-29
Helias beat out Camdenton 55-38

In Class 6 District 7
Rock Bridge beat out Blue Springs 65-40
Hickman fell to Grain Valley 41-40

ALL conference NCMC basketball teams announced yesterday.
On the boys side, first teamer’s included:
Charlie Fisher and Kaden Benne from Mexico,
Amare Hawkins and Cameron Dubrava from Moberly
and Thomas Pittman Jr from Fulton.

Second team boys included:
Mexico’s Brady Thoenen and Kinser Groves,
Moberly’s Kish Jacobs and Collin Knox
and Fulton’s Paul Bruner Jr.

On the girls side, All NCMC honors went to
Mexico’s Alyssa Miller and Grace Hudson,
Alison Skinner from Fulton
and Moberly’s Mia Faught

Second team honors went to:
Kia Tydings and Olivia Dunwoody from Moberly,
Scottie Smith from Mexico,
and Dez Galbreath-Chambers from Fulton.

IN THE NFL
Just days after releasing starting right tackle Jawan Taylor, yesterday the Kansas City Chiefs agreed with the LA Rams to a trade that sent the Chiefs All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles for a package of draft picks.
The Chiefs will receive LA’s first round, No. 29 selection, in the 2026 NFL draft, as well as fifth- and sixth-round picks this year and a 2027 third-round pick.
McDuffie, who is entering the final season of his rookie deal, is expected to sign a long-term extension with the Rams.

IN THE NHL
What could signal a massive sell-off in St. Louis, the Blues are awaiting approval of a deal involving there 32-year-old defenseman, Colton Parayako. Pending his approval, as he has a full no trade clause, Parayako will be sent to Buffalo in exchange for defensive prospect Radim Mrtka (mert-kuh) and a first-round pick. Mrtka was the Sabres #9 overall pick in last years draft and would join a growing stable of highly drafted St. Louis defensemen.

IN MLB
The St. Louis Cardinals lost 2-1 yesterday in an exhibition game against Team Nicaragua from the World Baseball Classic (WBC). Matthew Liberatore took the loss as he surrendered a two-run homer in the 4th.
