Columbia fire crews put out trailer fire

Columbia fire crews responded to a structure fire Saturday morning in the 1500 block of Vandiver Drive.

The call came in at 8:14 a.m., and crews found heavy smoke coming from a trailer, according to a Columbia Fire Department news release.

Within five minutes, firefighters had extinguished the flames in the trailer.

No one was injured from the fire, but a cat sustained smoke inhalation and was transported to an animal hospital for further treatment.
