Two Lincoln County women arrested for drug trafficking

Two women from Lincoln County were arrested early Saturday by Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies after a traffic stop on Interstate 70.

Around 1 a.m., deputies stopped a 2021 Hyundai going eastbound on I-70 for a window tint violation, and an obstructed license plate. They suspected 37-year-old Heather Rybolt was driving the car and indeed she was.

Rybolt was wanted on an outstanding warrant for drug trafficking drug out of St. Charles County.

After a K9 sniff alerted to an odor of drugs in the vehicle, and deputies searched the car and found 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine and other items consistent with drug trafficking, she was arrested along with 35-year-old Casey Sharp.

Both were charged with first-degree drug trafficking, according to court records.

Rybolt was also charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
