South Callaway Schools Launch new Crisis Alert System
The South Callaway R-2 School District has launched a new crisis alert system aimed at improving school safety.
The CENTEGIX CrisisAlert System equips every staff member with a wearable badge that can instantly notify responders in an emergency.
Pressing the badge three times alerts administrators that help is needed, while eight quick presses signals a full-campus emergency.
The alert goes out within seconds and pinpoints the exact location inside the building.
District technology director Chad Hecktor says the system gives families peace of mind, allowing students to focus more on learning.
School Resource Officer Deputy Cody Vandelicht says the alerts go straight to his phone, showing what kind of emergency it is and where it’s happening.
The system doesn’t track or record students and integrates with the district’s existing “I Love You Guys” safety program
It officially went live this week and is already being used on all campuses.
