Active Shooter Drill at Boonville High Today
An Active Shooter Exercise taking place today (Thursday) at Boonville High School in Cooper County.
This school is currently closed for Easter Break so no students are in session.
This is a planned training exercise designed to enhance preparedness and coordination among emergency responders. There are no known or credible threats associated with this event.
However, due to the nature of this exercise, the public is asked to avoid the area during the training.
Community members may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and personnel in the area, however, all radio traffic associated with the exercise will clearly be identified as “Active Intruder Exercise.”
The Cooper County Ambulance District, Boonville Police Department, Boonville Fire Department, Cooper County Joint Communications, Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, and Cooper County Fire Protection Districts, are all working in coordination with Boonville High School to conduct the exercise.
