Car Hauler catches fire on I-70
Fire lit up I-70 Saturday night in Boone County as a car hauler caught fire at mile marker 115 near Rocheport, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F social media post.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers and Boone County Firefighters responded at about 11pm to the westbound I-70 on-ramp as the tractor trailer was loaded with vehicles.
The cab of the hauler and at least five of the vehicles it was carrying were entirely destroyed.
MoDot cameras show the fire heavily involved in flames by the time firefighters arrived.
The fire posed problems for firefighters as it was rooted at different levels throughout the hauler. It closed the ramp to Route BB at I-70 for several hours.
No word yet on what caused the fire.
