Cards Win, Royals Lose

The Kansas City Royals lost to the Brewers on Sunday as the Brew Crew escaped with an 8-5 win. Milwaukee jumped out early and every time KC threatened, they answered. Kris Bubic took the loss as he gave up 4 runs on just 4 hits in his five innings of work

Ahead of Sunday night’s third and final game in Detroit, the Cardinals made some roster moves as they called up Jared Shuster, a 27-year-old lefty, from Triple-A Memphis and sent down right-hander Chris Roycroft.

In order to make room for Shuster on the 40-man roster, the Redbirds designated Memphis left-hander Nick Raquet for assignment. The 30-year-old Raquet, had thrown just three innings at Triple-A this season.

Meanwhile in game action the Cardinals wrapped up a series in Detroit last night, as St. Louis used a 4-run 5th inning to secure a 5-3 win over the Tigers. Ivan Herrera’s two-out two-rbi single was the big blow.  Reliever turned starter Kyle Leahy got the win.
