Mexico man arrested on harassment and gun charges
A 52-year-old Mexico man has been charged with First-Degree Harassment, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action and Fourth-Degree Domestic Assault after the Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) was dispatched last Thursday to a Mexico home for a domestic disturbance involving a gun.
Officers made contact with the suspect, Richard Curtis Casey, as he sat on the front porch of a residence with a firearm in his lap. After a brief back and forth with police, he eventually placed the gun in a safe inside the home.
Court documents showed that he had been drinking since early in the day and had consumed about half a bottle of Crown Royal.
The victim claimed that they had been in a relationship with Casey for approximately five months and was at their residence when they got in an argument. He later broke the back door, and was brandishing a Taurus handgun and pointing it at them.
He yelled at the victim claiming, “I want to shoot you in your f****** face,” according to a probable cause statement.
He’s currently being held in the Audrain County Jail, on a no bond warrant.
