Bolivar Street Overpass Closed for Bridge Repairs in Jefferson City

In Jefferson City, the Bolivar Street overpass bridge over U.S. 50 is now fully closed for major rehabilitation work.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the closure began Monday and will continue through mid-August, affecting all lanes and sidewalks.

Crews will repair the bridge deck, resurface the driving lanes, and apply protective coatings.

The north sidewalk will be removed, while the south sidewalk gets an upgrade. Barricades and “road closed” signs will mark restricted areas only authorized personnel should enter.

This project is part of MoDOT’s effort to restore 11 bridges across the city, most of which were finished last year.
