Just days after the municipal election, Fulton Ward 4 Councilwoman Lauren EH Nelson has resigned her position on the council. The move came about yesterday (Thursday), according to a Friday press release from the city.
Nelson is resigning “due to an upcoming relocation out of Ward 4, which makes her ineligible to continue serving in her current role.” She was first elected to Ward 4 duties in 2021 and her term was set to expire next year.
The release states Fulton Mayor Steve Myers will finalize an appointment for her position on Tuesday.
