Lincoln University is teaming up with the National Weather Service and Cole County Emergency Management for a severe storm spotter training in Jefferson City.
The free public session takes place This evening, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Pawley Theatre inside MLK Hall on East Dunklin Street.
The hands-on class will teach participants how to identify severe weather and safely report conditions to help improve warning accuracy.
Lincoln’s Security Sciences Institute says it’s part of their mission to keep residents informed and prepared.
The training was postponed from its original date earlier this week.
