A juvenile from Randolph County is recovering after what investigators believe was an accidental shooting Saturday.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Moberly Regional Medical Center for a juvenile with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was later transferred to University Hospital in Columbia with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the juvenile was inside a vehicle with two other juveniles at the time. It’s unclear who fired the gun.
The shooting happened in rural Randolph County outside Moberly city limits. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are being released due to the involvement of minors.
