Search for Moberly missing teen resumes today

The search for the Moberly teenager, missing since Wednesday, continues at 9am this morning at the Boy Scout parking area at the Rudolf Bennett Conservation area. Authorities are asking for volunteers to help in the search for 16-year-old Kayla Huff.

The search was paused last night at 6pm due to the weather.

Huff was last reported seen about 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Her car was found abandoned on Rollins Street in front of the Assembly of God Church in Moberly.

Hundreds of volunteers, and law enforcement officials helped Friday as people searched on foot and horseback, and local law enforcement used drones to try and locate Huff. Members of the Moberly PD, Randolph and Howard County Sheriff’s Deputies and state troopers have been involved in the search, which currently is centered around the the Rudolf Bennett Conservation Area, where investigators have received information from the public that they feel may be where Huff is located.

The area covers about 5.5 square miles near the junction of Boone, Howard and Randolph counties, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation.

The disappearance of Huff is under investigation with authorities being tight-lipped as to why she may of disappeared.

Authorities have not commented on a recent arrest that could be connected to Huff’s disappearance.
