Churchhill Museum to become Historic Landmark

Pending President Trump’s signature, the National Churchill Museum in Fulton will soon be recognized as a National Historic Landmark. It will be one of 36 in the state.

Bills that would bestow that status to the Westminster College-based organization have already passed both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

The museum commemorates the famous “Iron Curtain” speech delivered by former English prime minister Winston Churchhill in March of 1946. Located on the Westminster College campus. It opened in 1969 at the corner of West Seventh Street and Westminster Avenue.
