An Iowa man has been charged with fleeing an arrest in Randolph County after a car chase on Monday.
26-year-old Brett Martin was arrested after probable cause statements say that he fled a traffic stop near Route NN in Randolph County. Officers allege that Martin reached speeds as high as 140 miles per hour. The chase reportedly ended just north of Columbia when officers used tire deflation tactics to stop Martin.
The statements also say that Martin had dilated pupils and admitted to taking Lorazepam.
Martin is being held in the Randolph County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
