Judge Rules in Favor of Governor Kehoe’s Proposal

A Cole County Judge has ruled in favor of the state following a lawsuit regarding Governor Mike Kehoe’s proposal to eliminate income tax and replace it with a new sales tax.

The plaintiff, Jill Owens, has said that the decision will be appealed immediately.

The issue will now be on the August 4 primary ballot and will be up to the voters for a final decision, barring any changes from now until that time.
