Multiple roads throughout mid-Missouri were closed due to heavy rains leading to floods waters.
Last night, Boone, Callaway, Cole and Moniteau Counties had flash flood warnings in effect. Most of mid-Missouri still has a flood watch in effect according to the National Weather Service.
In Cole County, Jefferson City Fire Department assisted in rescuing a man from Scivner Road in Russellville who was standing on top of his car after it was submerged by flood waters.
The Russellville-Lohman Fire Protection District reportedly asked for assistance in rescuing the man at about 5 o’clock this morning.
Authorities remind drivers that if they encounter a flooded road, do not try to drive through it, regardless of water depth.
