A contract nurse at Phelps Health in Rolla is facing multiple felony charges after being accused of sexually assaulting a patient in the hospital’s emergency department.
Forty-two-year-old James Todd of Ripley, Tennessee, was arrested Friday and charged with rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse. Investigators say a female patient reported the alleged assaults, and security video reportedly showed sexual contact between Todd and the patient.
Todd denies the allegations and remains jailed without bond.
Phelps Health says the nurse was immediately removed from the facility and that staff are cooperating fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
