A Jefferson City man is being held without bond after being charged with statutory sodomy and first-degree child molestation.
Prosecutors say 32-year-old Dakota Benton was arrested Tuesday after a now-16-year-old reported years of alleged abuse to his mother.
According to court documents, the teen told investigators the abuse began when he was around 11 years old and continued for several years after Benton became a family friend.
The allegations were reported to Jefferson City Police on June 2nd.
Benton remains in the Cole County Jail as the investigation continues.
