A Rocheport man who was found guilty in a road death was sentenced today.
Matthew Shilling was sentenced to 15 years’ prison time after being found guilty in April of second-degree involuntary manslaughter, two counts of armed criminal action, one count of second-degree assault and driving while suspended.
His charges are in relation to a crash which killed 32-year-old Christina Mayfield in February 2024, where Shilling reportedly rear ended the motorcycle that Mayfield was on, throwing her from the bike into the SUV in front of her. Nearby security camera footage reportedly showed Shilling traveling at excessive speeds prior to the incident.
