The Kansas City Royals fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 5-3 last night snapping their two-game home losing skid
The Rays jumped out to a 5–0 lead and never looked back, taking advantage of Kansas City’s missed chances and defensive miscues.
A throwing error by Jac Caglianone in the 3rd inning helped Tampa Bay score twice, and Jonathan Aranda added an RBI single to make it 3–0.
In the 4th, Yandy Díaz drove in a run to tie B.J. Upton’s franchise RBI record, and Jonny DeLuca’s RBI double pushed the lead to 5–0.
The Royals got two unearned runs back in the 5th after a pair of Rays fielding errors and made things interesting when Josh Rojas hit a solo homer in the 9th.
But Bryan Baker recorded the final out for his 20th save, preserving the Rays’ victory.

The St. Louis Cardinals fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-4 last night at Busch Stadium.
The Diamondbacks broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning, turning a 1–0 deficit into a commanding lead.
Ildemaro Vargas started the rally with a two-run double, LuJames Groover launched his first major league home run, and Ketel Marte followed with a solo shot as Arizona surged ahead.

Arizona’s offense stayed productive throughout the game, with every starter recording a hit. Tommy Troy drove in two runs, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. added an RBI double.
On the mound, Mitch Bratt made his MLB debut for Arizona, while Ryan Thompson earned the win.
The Cardinals got three RBIs from rookie Blaze Jordan and a ninth-inning homer from José Fermín,
but their comeback attempt fell short as the Diamondbacks secured a 9–4 victory.
