if you’re traveling on Interstate 70 this Fourth of July weekend, expect fewer construction delays.
The Missouri Department of Transportation is pausing work in all I-70 construction zones between Blue Springs and Wentzville starting at noon on Thursday through the holiday weekend.
MoDOT says there will be no temporary lane closures unless an emergency repair is needed.
The agency says the pause is meant to make holiday travel safer and easier as work continues on the Improve I-70 project.
Construction is scheduled to resume the morning of July 6.
