Yesterday, Governor Mike Kehoe announced that 350 Missouri counties, cities, towns, and one school district have earned the state’s Blue Shield designation this year a 74 percent increase since the program launched in 2025.
The designation recognizes communities that support law enforcement and invest in public safety.
Eligible communities can now apply for a share of $10 million in state grants for training and equipment, including body cameras, ballistic vests, patrol vehicles, and security technology.
State officials say the program is part of the Governor’s Safer Missouri initiative to strengthen public safety across the state.
